Greek Yogurt Brownie Batter Ingredients

Full-fat Greek yogurt: This is the base of the recipe. It adds creaminess, protein, and structure while keeping the batter thick.

Almond butter (or peanut butter): Adds richness and helps mimic that classic brownie batter texture. It also balances the cocoa flavor.

Honey or maple syrup: Provides just enough sweetness without overpowering the chocolate.

Protein powder: Chocolate or vanilla both work here. It thickens the batter and boosts the protein content.

Oat flour: Gives structure without making the batter dry. Using less oat flour keeps everything fudgy instead of crumbly.

Unsweetened cocoa powder: Brings that deep, chocolate brownie flavor.

Vanilla extract + salt: Small but important. They round out the flavor and make everything taste more like dessert.

Mini chocolate chips: Because brownie batter without chocolate chips just isn’t right.

How to Make Greek Yogurt Brownie Batter

This could not be easier.

Step 1: Mix the wet ingredients: In a bowl, stir together the Greek yogurt, almond butter, honey, and vanilla until smooth and creamy.

Step 2: Add the dry ingredients: Add the protein powder, oat flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Mix until a thick, brownie-batter-like texture forms.

Step 3: Fold in chocolate chips: Stir in the mini chocolate chips until evenly distributed.

Step 4: Chill (optional): If you want it extra thick, chill for 10 to 15 minutes. If you like it softer, grab a spoon and enjoy right away.

Texture Notes (Important!)

This recipe is meant to be thick and fudgy, not crumbly.

  • If it feels too thick, add 1 to 2 teaspoons milk or yogurt
  • If it feels too loose, add 1 to 2 tablespoons oat flour

The texture should be scoopable and spoon-friendly, just like real brownie batter.

Why This Recipe Works

  • Cocoa powder replaces some of the flour for real brownie flavor
  • Slightly less oat flour keeps it from drying out
  • Almond butter adds richness and structure
  • Greek yogurt makes it creamy, thick, and protein-packed

Every ingredient has a purpose, and together they create that classic brownie batter experience.

Optional Add-ins & Variations

Want to switch it up? Try one of these:

  • A pinch of espresso powder for deeper chocolate flavor
  • White chocolate chips for brownie-blondie vibes
  • A swirl of peanut butter on top before serving
  • Chopped walnuts or pecans for texture
  • A sprinkle of flaky salt on top

  • Not recommended for freezing, as the texture changes

FAQs

Is this safe to eat raw?
Yes. There are no raw eggs and no raw flour.

Can I make this dairy-free?
You can try a thick dairy-free yogurt, but the texture may be slightly looser.

What protein powder works best?
Chocolate gives the richest brownie flavor, but vanilla works great too.

Can I eat this as a dessert or a snack?
Both. It’s perfect as a sweet snack or a healthier dessert option.

Can I use peanut butter instead of almond butter?
Yes. Peanut butter works just as well and adds a stronger nutty flavor.
