Why You Need to Make This Recipe

  • Uses brownie box mix and just 6 other simple ingredients
  • They taste homemade
  • Guaranteed to satisfy chocolate cravings
  • Both a brownie and a cookie!
  • Perfect for the whole fam

Brownie Mix Cookies Ingredients

  • Brownie mix: the main ingredient for this recipe! I used Ghirardelli dark chocolate brownie mix.
  • Unsalted butter: I always use unsalted so I can control the salt content. Also melting the butter will help these cookies be fudgy and brownie-like.
  • Eggs: This helps your dessert rise.
  • Maple syrup: a hint of sweetener!
  • Flour: need a bit more to help these brownies turn into cookies.
  • Cocoa powder: this helps give that rich, fudgy flavor to your cookies.

How to Make Brownie Mix Cookies: Step by Step

Luckily for you, this couldn't be any easier! So if you are someone who is not the best at baking or are in a pinch for something delicious and quick, look no further!

  1. Preheat your oven & prep your pans: Start by preheating the oven to 350 degrees F. Then, line two cookie sheets with parchment paper
  2. Combine the ingredients: In a medium bowl add your brownie mix and all of your ingredients. Mix to combine.
  3. Mix in chocolate chips: If your brownie mix does not have chocolate chips, you can add 1/2 cup of your own.
  4. Scoop and bake: Use a medium to large cookie scoop to scoop your cookie dough balls onto a baking sheet. Bake cookies 11-12 minute or until the edges are set and the centers look just underdone.
  5. Let cool: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack and enjoy!

FAQ + Tips & Tricks for the Best Brookies

Make them extra pretty: for bake worthy-cookies, I usually add a few chocolate chips on top of the cookies right as they come out of the oven. You can also sprinkle them with flay sea salt for a more profesh look.

Mix up the Chips: If your brownie mix does not have chocolate chips, or even if it does, have some fun and add your favorite chocolate chips!  Add some white chocolate chips, chocolate chinks, milk chocolate chips, or even peanut butter chips.

Why is my brownie mix cookie dough soft? Because these cookies are trying to be brownie-like, the dough will be softer than normal cookie dough. That is totally okay! We want the cookies to be as close to brownies as possible!

Can you make cookies with brownie mix!? Absolutely! Follow my instructions in the recipe card below! You will need a little extra flour and other ingredients to turn brownie mix into cookies!

Storage & Freezing

Storage: Store the cookies in an airtight container or Ziplock bag at room tem for 4-5 days.

Freezing: To freeze the dough, roll into balls and freeze on a baking sheet until firm. Then transfer to an airtight contianer or Ziplock bag. Freeze for 1-2 months. You cna layer parchment between the cookie dough balls so they don't stick to one another.
