Christmas Monster Cookie Dough Protein Balls Ingredients

Here’s what you’ll need for these no-bake bites (and what each one does):

  • Rolled oats: The hearty base that adds chew and helps everything hold together.
  • Peanut butter: Brings that classic monster cookie flavor — plus healthy fats and protein. Use creamy, no-stir peanut butter for best results.
  • Honey or maple syrup: Natural sweetness that binds everything together.
  • Protein powder: Gives these balls a satisfying boost — use vanilla for a classic flavor or chocolate for extra richness.
  • Mini chocolate chips + Christmas M&Ms: The fun part! Add that candy-studded cookie dough look (and make them merry and bright).
  • Vanilla extract: Adds a warm, cookie-like flavor.
  • Milk (optional): Just a splash if your dough feels dry.
  • Pinch of salt: Always balances the sweetness and brings out that peanut buttery goodness.

FAQ

Can I make these nut-free?
Yes! Swap the peanut butter for sunflower seed butter or tahini — just make sure it’s thick and not too runny.

What kind of protein powder works best?
Whey, plant-based, or collagen all work! Start with ½ cup, then adjust if the dough feels too wet or dry.

Do these taste like protein powder?
Not at all! The peanut butter, vanilla, and M&Ms totally mask any protein taste.

Can I use quick oats instead of rolled oats?
Yep — they’ll just make the texture a little softer and less chewy.

Serving & Gifting Ideas

These protein balls aren’t just for snacking — they make the cutest edible holiday gifts, too!

  • Snack board upgrade: Add them to a cozy snack board with pretzels, fudge, and peppermint bark.

  • Lunchbox treat: Pop one or two in your kid’s (or your own) lunchbox for a sweet protein boost.

  • Giftable bites: Wrap a few in mini treat bags or mason jars, tie with ribbon, and add a festive tag — they make adorable stocking stuffers or quick hostess gifts.

  • Holiday party platter: Mix them with Christmas cookies for a colorful, protein-packed twist on your dessert table.

  • Freezer stash: Keep a batch in the freezer for when you need a pick-me-up between baking marathons or wrapping sessions.
