In the prepared baking pan, spread the dry white cake mix evenly on the bottom.
Pour the eggnog evenly over the cake mix layer.
Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix and eggnog or cut the butter into little cubes to spread on top
Sprinkle ground nutmeg and ground cinnamon on top of the mixture.
Optional: Sprinkle the chopped pecans or walnuts over the top for added texture and flavor.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cake is set.
Serve the Egg Nog Dump Cake warm with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
